The owners of SHOCK!, Kerry and Leonard Conn, announced they have provided the Norman Public School System with a grant for $18,000 which is to used by the cheer and pom sponsors for this year's camp clothes. The grant, funded by the Conn Family Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, was granted to assist in reducing the significant out of pocket costs experienced by cheerleader's and pommer's families when they participate in public school cheer and pom programs. "We want to help promote these wonderful women's sports programs and help make them more accessible. We also hope to raise the visibility of these programs, promote additional support, and help the school systems recognize and support these programs on a level consistent with other school sports programs", Leonard Conn told school officials. The grant was made to the school system based on the needs stated by the school program sponsors and earmarked specifically for the cheer and pom programs. The squads benefiting from the grant included Norman North Varsity Cheer, Norman North Varsity Pom, Norman North JV Cheer, Norman North JV Pom, Norman High Varsity Cheer, Norman High Varsity Pom, Norman High JV Cheer, Norman High JV Pom, Whittier Cheer, Longfellow Cheer, Alcott Cheer, and Irving Cheer.
